WEST NILE OPERATORS TO ABIDE BY TRAFFIC LAWS

Regional Police Commander West Nile Okullo Richard has advised transport operator’s in West Nile to abide by all the necessary traffic laws and regulations to enable smooth movement on the road.
The RPC together with a team of other Senior Police officers in the West Nile made the remarks while touring the various bus terminals and taxi parks of Arua city.
The visit was to assess the level of compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Ministry of Health before starting to operate public transport business.
The guidelines assessed at the bus terminals and taxi parks included the hand washing facilities, sanitizers, temperature guns, the level of congestion to allow social distancing and General hygienic standards.
The bus terminals toured were of Gaagaa bus, Nile Star, Nile coach, California bus, Kasamba bus, Baby coach, YY coaches, Zawadi bus, all the taxi parks, taxi stages and their offices.
They have been all been found compliant with the SOPs except temperature guns which some of them did not have.
According to Angucia Josephine the rational Police spokesperson west Nile, those without temperature guns have promised to acquire them immediately after resuming business as they continue following other SOPs.
