In a bid to cater for all categories of its listeners, Top radio, has announced that they will continue doing live football commentary of the English Premier league (EPL) games.

The commentary which started earlier with the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and EPL last weekend, saw Top radio become the first Christian station in Uganda to conduct Premier League Commentary.

According to Steven Dunstan Busuulwa, the station’s general manager, the deliberate development is intended to bridge the existing gap in Uganda in football commentary where commentators and analysts do not dig for details.

“You see, football dynamics have changed. A listener is no longer only interested in only listening to who has the ball, not at all. He/she wants to be detailed about the player, statistical comparisons and other related information. This is what we are bringing on board,” Busuulwa said on Friday.

“We have the best and most experienced team on commentators and analysts in the country so far, who will bring flavour in the airwaves in regard to football commentary,” he added.

In April this year, Top Radio, which is also the first Christian station in Uganda, made a shakeup in its programming as management effected new changes which saw several new celebrated and experienced journalists brought on-board, among whom Ddumba Suleiman a veteran sports pundit and commentator.

Ddumba’s 14 years of sports commentary at Akaboozi radio, will be synchronised with that of sports analyst, Sarah Kaddu alias Kyarenga alias Omwana Wa Maama, Lule the Brazilian and many others to spice up the English Premier League and StarTimes Uganda Premier league commentary.

Owned by Christian Life Church proprietor, Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga, Top radio is under Top Media Group which is the largest private broadcast media company in Uganda owning several radio stations in Mbarara , Mbale, Masaka, Fort Portal, Kitgum, Jinja and Kampala FM, a sister English radio station.

Top media also owns Top television.

Meanwhile, tomorrow Saturday, don’t miss Southampton Vs Man United, Chelsea Vs Sheff Utd, C Palace Vs A Villa, Leicester Vs B’mouth, Man City Vs Brighton, Newcastle Vs Watford, West Ham and Norwich

Burnley Vs Liverpool.
