TEN NEW CASES, 11 FOREIGNERS RETURNED HOME

The ministry of health has confirmed ten new COVID-19 cases from 3,577 samples tested on yesterday.
Out of the ten confirmed cases, seven are contacts to previously confirmed cases including six from Namisindwa district and one is an Indian Ugandan returnee resident of Kibuli in Kampala.
The other three are truck drivers, two of whom arrived from Kenya via Malaba while one arrived from South Sudan via Elegu point of entry.
According to the ministry of health, a total of eleven (11) foreign truck drivers including six Kenyans, four Tanzanians and one Eritrean who tested positive for COVID19 were not permitted entry in to the country.
To date, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 1,223 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1,102 recoveries and five COVID-19 deaths.
