SOCIAL JUSTICE VERSES SOCIAL DISTANCING-LORD MAYOR
Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago responded to a call from Bwaise Market Vendors who are currently startled as a result of eviction threats from their work space.
Amidst the novel Covid-19 pandemic and its recommended standard operating procedures, the Lord Mayor and other leaders had to risk interfacing these vendors in a move to realize social justice and equitable development.
Lukwago says it is the mandate of the City leadership to create organized and affordable workspaces and this has been a continuous responsibility.
He promised to lead them to all relevant offices and engage all the concerned stakeholders since it is the Authority’s duty to set minimum market standards and promote trade order and formality of business in the City.
