ONYANGO SCOOPS SECOND TERM, ASSURES TO BOOST ECONOMY

The Secretary General of the Forum of Parliaments of the member-states of the International Conference on Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR) Ambassador Onyango Kakoba has been re-appointed to the position for another three-year term following satisfactory performance.

Ambassador Kakoba’s mandate was unanimously renewed by the Speakers of the National Parliaments of the ICGLR member-states during a virtual meeting held via videoconferencing.

“I am glad to be given another opportunity to continue serving the region” Ambassador appreciates.

 Kakoba says having worked hard to have my contract renewed, I will even work harder during the new mandate to leave a good legacy.

The FP-ICGLR brings together National Parliaments of the twelve member-states of ICGLR, like; Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo (Congo Brazzaville) Central African Republic and Uganda.

Ambassador Kakoba is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Diplomat of the Kinshasa-based organization operating at the level of a diplomatic mission.

A professional diplomat with a Masters degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, Kakoba was first appointed to his current position in April 2018.

Ambassador is also a former Member of Parliament in National Parliament of Uganda and Pan African Parliament based in Midrand, South Africa.
