President Yoweri Museveni and and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) have Sunday donated Shs 380 million to the National Covid-19 Task Force to help in combating Covid-19, a disease caused by coronavirus.
The money was handed over by the party Vice-chairman and veteran politician Hajji Moses Kigongo and the party Secretary General, Justice Kasule Lumumba and received by the country’s Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda who heads the task force.
NRM’s contribution is in response to the recent call by President Museveni for individuals and organisations to contribute to this cause. He said the money will mainly be to secure brand new vehicles for the Ministry of Health and that they will be stationed at the districts.
Since then, several companies like Crown beverages, religious groups, traditional institutions like Buganda Kingdom and individuals like Ham have since positively responded.
