FRIENDLY: Uganda To Face Turkmenistan, Ivory Coast Ahead Of AFCON

With just days to the kickoff of the Africa Cup of Nations later this month, Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre has confirmed that the National team, Cranes, who are currently in Camp in Abu Dhabi will face Turkmenistan on 9th June at the New York University stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The game which will start at 8pm will be played behind closed doors and fans will not be allowed to access the stadium.

In the same way, Desabre has revealed that Uganda will as well play against Ivory Coast in another friendly game on on 15th June 2019 from the venue yet to be communicated.

”We must put value to every moment we spend here in Abu Dhabi. The intensity of the training is picking up and that calls for high levels of total discipline. We must prepare very well for the tournament and that is why we have organised two friendlies for the team on 9th and 15th June against very good teams,” said Sebastien.

The players will return to training later today to complete the double sessions planned by the technical team. The team will have a day off tomorrow but two more players Kizito Luwagga and Salim Jamal will join camp  later on Sunday while Lumala Abdu and Alexis Bakka will fly in on Monday 3rd June.

The tournament will run from June 21 to July 19 and Uganda is in group A alongside Zimbabwe, Egypt and DRC.
