His words came as a divide emerged between parts of Europe and the US over how best to increase global vaccine production.

Currently, around 1.25 billion doses have been administered around the world.

However, according to news from agency states that, less than 1% has been given to the world’s 29 poorest countries.

Rich countries are speeding up their vaccination campaigns with the UK standing at 67% of the population having received their first dose and in the US 56% of those eligible have had one jab.

Last week, the European Union agreed to purchase 900 million more doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

South Africa and India argue that surrendering patents would mean the secret vaccine recipes would be released and other countries could start producing the life-saving jabs.

India is currently in the grip of a devastating second wave, which yesterday alone left more than 4,000 people dead.

“Another juvenile was seen setting fire on the same vehicle at the spot where the colleague poured a liquid suspected to be petrol” Oweyesigyire.

According to Oweyesigyire, Mr Mubiru was heading home from Kitintale, later told police that he heard a loud bang and then saw fire on his car. He stopped and was helped by the residents to extinguish it. But the juveniles had already fled the scene. Efforts to arrest them are underway.

The second incident happened around the same time just a few metres away on Jinja Road towards Kireka Police Station.

Ms Rose Kyasimire was driving in the traffic jam when unknown persons riding a motorcycle, whose registration number is yet to be identified, hurled a petrol bomb at her car.

The victim told police that she heard a loud bang and immediately saw her car engulfed by fire then got out and started extinguishing it. She was helped by the residents and the police officers who arrived in real time.

Oweyesigyire says a bottle suspected to have been used to hurl the flammable substance has been recovered and submitted to Government Analytical Laboratory for analysis.

Oweyesigyire  has commended the residents at Kireka who responded to the incident and put out the fire immediately.

“Parliament to set up a special committee to peruse through them to avoid risks of making losses in oil sector” Minister clarifies.

However, Minister Kitutu said that the agreements are confidential and cannot be fully accessed as per the interests of Uganda and the stakeholder companies.

In the meantime, Parliament has also been shocked by news that the biggest shareholder partner in the sector who is Total has been denied funds by the French banks which have been originally financing their oil activities across the globe.

Members of Parliament say this has left most of them wondering where can made outstanding decisions for the development of the country or has to lean against donors all the time.
